Facelift (Rhytidectomy)
A facelift (rhytidectomy or facialplasty) is a surgical procedure designed to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck. Signs of facial aging that can be significantly improved by a facelift procedure include:
- Sagging in the midface
- Deep creases below the lower eyelids
- Fat that has fallen to the jowl areas
- Lost muscle tone in the lower face

Short Scar Face Lift / Neck Lift / Neck Liposuction
Dr. Monaco uses customized approaches to restore a youthful volume and appearance to a patient’s face and improve the contour of their neck. The methods depend on the patient’s goals, natural attributes, and pattern of aging. For example, patients who are a little younger may not need a full facelift. Instead, they may be candidates for a short scar face lift or neck lift. In such cases, scars are shorter. The loose skin is lifted, and sagging jowls and neck muscles are tightened to rejuvenate a patient’s face and profile. However, if a patient has a rounder face or neck, liposuction can be used to help thin the neck for a more youthful appearance. Depending on the patient’s needs, Dr. Monaco may perform the procedure on its own or as part of a neck lift procedure.

Brow Lift (Browplasty)
A brow lift procedure is designed to help rejuvenate the appearance of a sagging brow. It helps reposition a low or sagging brow that may contribute to hooding of the eye. A brow lift can raise the eyebrow to a more alert and youthful position. It can also minimize creases that develop across the forehead or between the eyes.
For many patients, a browlift can be performed with an endoscope, requiring only a few small incisions in the hair or an elliptical wedge incision in the hair-bearing area of the scalp. It can be performed alone or in conjunction with eyelid surgery or a facelift procedure.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Cosmetic eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to rejuvenate the area around a patient’s eyes. This procedure treats loose or sagging skin that creates folds or bags under the eyes. It also often requires removal of excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the eye area. By changing the area surrounding the eyes, a blepharoplasty helps the patient look more rested and alert.
Depending on an individual’s needs, blepharoplasty surgery can be an isolated procedure or alongside another surgical procedure, like a brow lift or facelift. It can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or on all four eyelids at one time.
Eyelid surgery is the fourth most common surgery chosen by patients last year according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. It is traditionally performed in an ambulatory, outpatient setting.

Nasal Surgery/Nose Job (Rhinoplasty)
Nasal surgery can serve a dual purpose. There are aesthetic reasons to have rhinoplasty, such improving the appearance and proportion of the nose while enhancing facial harmony. However, nasal surgery can also correct structural abnormalities in the nose that cause impaired breathing.
Dr. Monaco provides personal consultations to determine a patient’s goals for surgery. Nasal surgery is often an outpatient surgery, but it can be performed in conjunction with other procedures.

Chin Augmentation (Mentoplasty) and Facial Implants
Patients who elect to change the contours of their face may consider a facial implant. A surgically-placed implant to the cheek, chin, or jaw can improve proportion and profile. These implants are traditionally made with silicone or gortex and require placement during a surgical procedure to assure sterility. Dr. Monaco will plan implant size and position carefully before surgery, following a personal consultation.
Facial implants are performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia and may be performed in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure. Discreet incisions, sometimes inside the mouth or below the chin, hide any visible scarring. Results are visible immediately, although there may be initial swelling. Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
Prominent or large ears can be successfully treated surgically with an otoplasty procedure, which is designed to set prominent ears back closer to the head. This is a procedure that is performed under sedation in an outpatient setting and is available for both adults and children. Incisions are hidden behind the ear so that visible scarring is at a minimum.
