Rectangular sheet can be used as is or cut to fit scar. Ideal for Mohs procedures, burns, skin graft harvest areas, and other wider or irregularly shaped scars.
Silagen silicone gel sheeting is made of 100% medical-grade silicone. When used consistently, this customizable gel sheet can visibly smooth, flatten, and lighten the appearance of scars. The mechanism by which silicone sheeting works is to protect scars from damaging environmental elements (UVA/UVB rays, light, heat, dryness). Silagen gel sheeting is clear and low-profile.
Doctor’s Tips
- Remove gel sheet from package and, if necessary, trim to fit the scar. Sheet should extend at least 1/2 inch beyond the scar.
- Ensure scar area is clean and dry, as well as free from creams, lotions, ointments, and powders.
- Wear daily for 6-24 hours . Remove once daily to allow site to be washed and dried.
- For best results, use for a minimum of 2-6 months.
- If gel sheet becomes dirty or loses adhesiveness, wash gently with water and mild soap. Allow to air dry before reapplying.
- Use clear storage tray included in the package to store gel sheet when not in use.
