Injectables and Fat Transfer
The signs of aging can occur at any time from excessive sun exposure, smoking, genetics and lifestyle. The development of wrinkles and the loss of a youthful full appearance to the midface can be corrected with various filler products. Fillers such as Juvéderm® XC Ultra and Juvéderm® XC Ultra Plus, Radiesse®, Restylane-L® and Perlane-L®, to name a few are available to restore facial contours to a more youthful appearance. These fillers are useful to reduce the appearance of lines and creases that develop around the mouth, the lips, deep frown lines or can improve the appearance of recessed scars. Fillers can also be used to plump thin appearing lips or restore youthful appearing fullness of the cheek and eye areas. Also, patients who are appropriate candidates may benefit from using their own fat to be transferred to a facial wrinkle or facial contour defect. Using an injectable filler or a fat transfer technique does not stop the aging process but these are intended techniques for patients who prefer non-surgical rejuvenation or who are not surgical candidates. All procedures are performed personally by Dr Monaco. An improved appearance is visible immediately although minor swelling or bruising may occur. The duration of fat transfer and various fillers is variable depending on the agent and the patient.
