Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

A facelift (rhytidectomy or facialplasty) is a surgical procedure designed to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck. Dr Monaco will customize a patient’s procedure depending on the amount of loose skin that a patient has and the patient’s natural appearance. Some patients are candidates for a short scar face lift or neck lift instead of a full facelift. These patients tend to be a little younger and may not need a full facelift. Scars are shorter and yet the loose skin is lifted and the sagging jowls and neck muscles are tightened to rejuvenate a patient’s face and profile. Dr Monaco restores a youthful volume and appearance to a patients face while improving the contour of a neck in a very customized way depending on the patient’s goals and pattern of aging. Brow Lift (Browplasty)

A browlift procedure is designed to help rejuvenate the appearance of a sagging brow and can be performed alone or in conjunction with eyelid surgery or a facelift procedure. A browlift procedure helps minimize the creases that develop across a forehead or those that occur between the eyes. It helps reposition a low or sagging brow that may be contributing to hooding of the eye. A browlift raises the eyebrow to a more alert and youthful position. For many patients, a browlift can be performed with an endoscope requiring only a few small incisions in the hair or through an elliptical wedge incision in the hair-bearing area of the scalp. Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Cosmetic eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to rejuvenate the appearance of a patient’s eyes. It can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or on all four eyelids at one time. Nasal Surgery/Nose Job (Rhinoplasty)

Surgery of the nose improves the appearance and proportion of a patient’s nose while enhancing facial harmony. This procedure is planned after careful discussion with Dr Monaco to determine a patient’s goals for surgery. It is performed as an outpatient and can be performed in conjunction with other procedures. Surgery of the nose may also correct impaired breathing caused by structural abnormalities in the nose. Chin Augmentation (Mentoplasty) and Facial Implants

Patients who elect to change the contours of their face have the option to consider a facial implant. A surgically placed implant to the cheek, chin or jaw can improve proportion and profile. These implants are traditionally made with silicone or gortex and require placement during a surgical procedure to assure sterility. Implant size and position are carefully chosen preoperatively and all implants are placed through discreet incisions sometimes inside the mouth or below the chin to hide any visible scarring. Facial implants are performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia and may be performed in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure. Results are visible immediately although initial swelling can occur but this traditionally subsides within one to four weeks. Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

Prominent or large ears can be successfully surgically treated with an otoplasty procedure which is designed to set prominent ears back closer to the head. This is a procedure that is performed under sedation in an outpatient setting and is available for both adults and children. Incisions are hidden behind the ear so that visible scarring is at a minimum.
